Dr. Riyad Khamis

Dr. Khamis grew up in Kincardine, Ontario and went on to complete his Bachelor of Science with Honors from the University of Waterloo. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry where he graduated on the dean’s honor list. After completion of his O.D degree, Dr. Khamis furthered his education by completing a one year, optional extensive residency program in Family Practice with an emphasis on Ocular disease at Northeastern State University (NSU) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He served as the faculty advisor for sports vision at NSU working with both college and Olympic athletes as well as patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries.
Dr. Khamis is a fellow of the College of Vision Development (F.C.O.V.D) along with a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O) both designation earned by less than 1% of Optometrists. Dr. Khamis is the founder and owner at the innovative London and Sarnia Vision Development Centre’s where he and his team perform concussion, vision rehabilitation, vision therapy for children with lazy eyes or who are struggling with reading. He has successfully treated over 3000 patients who have visual issues resulting from a brain injury.
He also is providing sports vision for athletes seeking an edge through visual performance and is the current sports vision provider for the London Knights, Edmonton Oil Kings and NHL athletes. Dr. Khamis performs consulting all over North America on practice management, contact lenses and vision therapy/sports vision training.
